School Rules and Weather Conditions

  1. Enrolment, course arrangement and size of classes
    • Enrolment starts one month before the anticipated commencement of the course.
    • Students are enrolled on a first-come-first-served basis.
    • To enrol a student-to-be submits the application and pays the course fee for the first month of the course. Place in the class is guaranteed only after the above payment is made.
    • Courses will run subject to a minimum number of participants. School reserves the right to cancel or postpone a class with insufficient number of students registered. In this case registered students will be offered revised arrangements or a full refund of the course fee collected (according to Refund Policies and Procedures).
    • The average number of students in our classes is about 7. Should there be insufficient number of students in a class, school reserves the right to cancel or postpone this class. In this case students will be offered revised arrangements or partial refund of the course fee collected (according to Refund Policies and Procedures
  1. Fees and payment terms
    • Tuition fee should be paid on the dates specified in the course leaflet
    • Tuition fees are indicated in the course leaflet.
    • A fine of HK$100 may be applied in case of late payment.
    • Students should not make any amendments to the amount of tuition fees indicated in the course leaflet or in the email from the school management reminding about the payment.
    • Payment can be made by cheque, transfer or deposit.
  1. Refunds
    • A refund of the course fee will not be granted if student withdraws from the course.
    • There will be no refund or make-up class for lessons missed by student due to reasons other than those indicated in paragraph 2 of Refund Policies and Procedures.
    • There will be a make-up class for the lesson canceled due to Gale or Storm Signals 8 and 9 or Hurricane Signal 10 Warnings or the Black Rainstorm Warning. The class will take place after the supposed course end.
    • For a private class, failure to notify school of a lesson cancelation prior to at least 3 hours before the scheduled lesson time will result in the full fee being charged for the lesson. All notification must be done BY E-MAIL sent to the teacher and/or the school management: management@rlc.hk — and BY PHONE provided by the teacher.

  1. Transfers

All transfers from one course to another will be considered on an individual basis.

Teacher allocation is subject to change.

  1. Student's behavior

Each student should respect teachers and fellow students. School has a right to expel student guilty of physical or verbal abuse or other disrespectful behavior instantly and without a refund.

  1. Pupils’ safety.
    • Children under the age of 3 must be accompanied by a Russian-speaking relative or a nanny during the entire lesson.
    • Children over the age of 3 must be brought to the classroom and taken back home by an adult (a relative or a nanny) unless conditions of paragraph 7.4 are met. No child is allowed to leave the school premises on his or her own unless conditions of paragraph 7.4 are met.
    • Parents must make sure that children are being picked up from school immediately after the end of the lesson.
    • Children of appropriate age can arrive to the classroom and leave the classroom unaccompanied if a written request and consent for such arrangement is submitted by parents to the Administration of the Russian Language Center.
  2. Arrangements in case of Typhoon and Black Rainstorm Warnings
    • Should Gale or Storm Signals 8 and 9 or Hurricane Signal 10 Warnings or the Black Rainstorm Warning be hoisted 3 hours before classes are scheduled to start, classes will be canceled.
    • In case of Gale or Storm Signals 8 and 9 or Hurricane Signal 10 Warning, classes that have already started will be dismissed immediately, pupils of children classes must wait for their parents to come and pick them up.
    • In case of Black Rainstorm Warning, classes that have already begun will continue until the end of session. Pupils of children classes must wait for their parents to come and pick them up.
    • In case of Yellow, Red and Black Rainstorm Warning, Playgroup classes for kids younger than 3 years are cancelled.
    • Classes will resume three hours after the removal of Gale or Storm Signals 8 Warning or the Black Rainstorm Warning.
    • If the Gale or Storm Signals 8 Warning or Black Rainstorm Warning are removed after 4:00 p.m., all classes will be canceled for the rest of the day.
  3. The English version of the School rules and Refund policies prevails in case there are any inconsistency between the English and the Russian versions

Refund Policies and Procedures

  1. Refund Policies:
  2. A refund of the course fee will not be granted if student withdraws from the course.
  3. A refund of the course fee in full or on a pro-rata basis can beconsidered in each individual case if a medical certificate is provided.
  4. A refund of the course fee will not be granted if student is expelled from our school due to violation of School Rules.
  5. There will be no refund or make-up class for lessons missed by student due to reasons other than those indicated in paragraph 2.
  6. Should Gale or Storm Signals 8 and 9 or Hurricane Signal 10 or the Black Rainstorm Warning be hoisted 3 hours before lessons are scheduled to start, they will be canceled. In this case, there will be no make-up class or refund for the canceled lesson for children. For adult courses, there will be a make-up lesson after the date of the supposed course end
  7. In case of school closure prior to the commencement of a course, our school will refund in full the course fee collected to students immediately.
  8. If a course cannot be operated according to the arrangements specified in the fee receipts and students decline the revised arrangements offered by our school, our school will refund in full or on a pro-rata basis the course fee collected to students as soon as possible and in any event not later then one month after the students have requested for the refund.
  9. If a course cannot be operated on the date or the time specified in the course leaflet and students decline the revised arrangements offered by our school, our school will refund in full or on a pro-rata basis the course fee collected to students as soon as possible and in any event not later then one month after the students have requested for the refund.
  10. In case of cessation of the course after its commencement, our school will refund to students the course fee collected on a pro-rata basis as soon as possible and in any event not later then one month after the cessation of the course.

 

  1. Refund Procedures:
  2. Our school will inform students of the refund arrangement either over the telephone or in writing. For students aged below 18, their parents or guardians can proceed with the refund procedures on behalf of the students.
  3. Our school will refund students in accordance with the above policies.
  4. When processing the refund, our school will not take away the original fee receipt. Upon receipt of the refund, students or parents should sign to acknowledge the receipt.
  5. Our school will pay the refund by cheque.
